Ever heard of Amberly's blog, A Prioritized Marriage? She has a wonderful link up on the first Monday of every month that focusing on creating a marriage or relationship goal for the month! It can be something fun, something serious, or something in between as long as it involves putting your relationship foremost and center.
Love & marriage take a lot of upkeep and can't just be expected to be fine on its own. I'm so excited to be a co-host for this link up today and I hope that you guys will join me!
Simeon and my goal for this next month is to make the moments that we have together actually count! With school & work, we don't actually get to see each other that often. Actually, just this past weekend we didn't even get to see each other with me going to a Navigator confrence and Simeon gone for an overnight debate tournament! We only get a few stolen moments together a day and I plan to make it count!
MAKE THE MOMENT'S COUNT
This means getting off the computer, putting the books away, and turning off the shows when Simeon is around. It is so easy to get caught up in whatever you are doing and forget that you only get so much time with the person that you love and that it should be a priority. Make sure to actually talk instead of watching a show together. Know how the other person's day went and talk more about our future and know whats going on together.
MAKE A DATE NIGHT
Simeon and I have been striving to have a bi-weekly date night, but it always seems like its a rushed night. We decide at last minute and then just do something like going out to eat. which leads to a lot of fun face time, but doing it the same all the time kind of ruins the fun. I want to spend some time trying to make a few extremely special date nights. SImeon is in charge of Valentine's Day date, but I wanna plan a fun dinner & Wii game night that would be super special for us.
